Airbrush Tanning

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to shower before my appointment?

Yes! Before your airbrush tanning appointment, it is necessary for your skin to be clean and exfoliated.

Can I use my daily moisturizers before my appointment?

No. It is important that skin be free from any moisturizers or perfumes on the day of your appointment.

Will the solution hurt my hair?

No the active ingredients in the solution, DHA and eurythrulose, wont harm hair or skin. If an over-spray does end up on your hair, it can easily be removed by simply wiping hair with a cloth. However, long hair will need to be put up so that it does not block your neck or interfere with the airbrushing process. We also can provide you with a hair bonnet to protect your tresses.

Are there any reactions to the solution?

DHA has been approved by the FDA for over 30 years for cosmetic application and is widely used in today's tanning lotions and products. While it is possible that a person's skin would not accept the solution for some reason, DHA rarely causes any negative reaction.

Will it turn me orange or streaky?

No. Our unique blend of DHA and eurythrulose will gradually cause a beautiful, natural tan to appear.

How long does the tan color last?

Similar to a traditional tan, you will receive a dark golden tan that will gradually fade away depending on skin tone and after care. The average person's airbrush tan will last approximately a week with the face fading the fastest.

Can I get airbrushed on my lunch hour and return to work?

Yes. The solution dries very quickly and your skin will feel normal, with the exception of a slight stickiness until the solution has dried completely. There is no offensive odor. It takes about 30 minutes to do an entire body and even less time to do body parts.

Can I swim or exercise after being airbrushed?

You need to wait a minimum of six (6) hours before showering after your airbrush session. After your first shower, it is fine to participate in any of your daily activities. Please note that you will notice excess solution to rinse off in the shower. We recommend using a mild body wash such as our Total Submersion. This product has an advanced skin care formula that cleanses and refreshes as it helps to preserve tanning results by locking in essential moisture and tan-enhansing benefits.
NOTE: Chlorine in the pool water may cause the color to lighten a little and will add to skin dryness, which may result in increased facing.

I have fair skin and hardly tan. Will this give me a tan?

Yes! Because this is a cosmetic tan only, it will work for any skin type.

When is the best time to get airbrushed for a special occasion or vacation?

It is best to get airbrushed 1-2 days before the special event so the color has time to bond to your skin and take hold. This will also reduce any fade-off onto clothing. You'll look like you just returned from a vacation!
NOTE: A sunless tan DOES NOT offer any protection against sunburn. You may look very tan but it's only a cosmedic tan. Be sure to use proper sunscreen or other sun protection wile on vacation.

Do I need an appointment to get airbrushed?

Yes, appointments are necessary due to airbrush technician scheduling requirements.

What should I wear?

It is best to wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. While getting airbrushed, most people will wear either their bathing suits or undergarments. Women may go topless. All clients must wear bottoms; thongs are acceptable. Keep in mind when dressing for your appointment that some solution will rub off onto clothing. We recommend spot treating your garment before your regular wash cycle to avoid setting.

What is the best way to care for my airbrushed tan?

Keeping the skin soft and moist is an important part in maintaining a beautiful tan, whether from UV exposure or from an airbrush system. We recommend one of our after-tan extender moisturizers such as Total Immersion, as well as a body wash that is especially designed for tanners. It is also important to use an exfoliating cream 3-4 times a week for best results.
